Saturday Green Links – 9/11
I’m a little obsessed with tomatoes lately. The harvest is so good this year!
- Preserve the Harvest – Diced Tomatoes – Healthy Slow Cooking. Maybe I should just can them for later?
- Tomato Sorbet – Creative Renegade. A coworker’s food blog! I think we need to borrow Sharon’s ice cream maker for this.
- Home Energy Efficiency: The Bitter Taste of Low Hanging Fruit – Green Light Distrikt. I just discovered this blog and I lovelovelove it. And this is a good point—the most effective things, like energy efficiency, just aren’t sexy.
- 6 Characteristics of a Perfect B2C Energy Efficiency Company – Green Light Distrikt. Another good point—energy efficiency must be fun. And the video shows a perfect example of this.
- Driving thy neighbor’s car: My experience with RelayRides – Boston Globe. I really want to sign up for this—it’s like Zipcar taken to its extreme.
- Delusions Abound on Energy Savings, Study Says – New York Times. This is true for all of us. I mean, who knew that changing your washer’s settings saved more energy than line drying?
- How to Shrink a City – Boston Globe. After Green Metropolis, I’m fascinated with the idea of using urban decay as an opportunity for sustainable urban planning.
- Baking Soda Deodorant FAIL – Condo Blues. Has anyone ever tried this? It doesn’t sound like it turned out well for her.
- Packaging Is All the Rage, and Not in a Good Way – New York Times. The packaging my Kindle came in was so simple and entirely recyclable cardboard.
That’s all for now. If you see anything interesting this week, send it my way. (Especially if you’re a stealth food blogger!)

Hello!
You’re the first stealth food blogger I’ve come across, I enjoyed reading through the blog for a little while, growing up in Maine around farms and then moving into Boston has made it very evident how strange our food system is, and you capture it very well.
I wanted to thank you for the shout outs to the two Green Light Distrikt posts you found. Very glad you found the blog and enjoy the writing, I’ve been looking on how to get in some more food content so would love to hear any thoughts you may have.
